Dynamic Recipients coming from flagged datasource

Hello,

I have a Microsft Dynamic data source loaded on PowerBI report, where I have flagged problematic opportunities.

Those opportunities have attached a particular sales representative, where I want to notify that they have a problematic opportunity.

I'm thinking to do the following flow but a little help from more experienced users will be great

Flow

PowerBI Alert  --> Send the list of flagged opportunities to an excel file with the problem and the sales representative --> Send an email to each sales representative with the problem involved.

I'm want to avoid to create an alert for each corresponding flagged opportunity.

Also, Is it possible to include PowerApps in this process? Maybe doing the flagging outside PowerBI could also work.

Regards,

Re: Dynamic Recipients coming from flagged datasource

Hi @Anonymous,

For “PowerBI Alert”, I assume that you may use the trigger “PowerBI - When a data driven alert is triggered”.

About “Send the list of flagged opportunities to an excel file with the problem and the sales representative”, you could use the action “Excel – Insert row”, in the Excel table, you should have columns for problem and the name of sales representatives.

About “Send an email to each sales representative with the problem involved.”, you may consider using the action “Office 365 Outlook- Send email”. In the To field of this action, use an “if” function to send an email to corresponding sales representative.

The function I provided in this thread could be a reference for you:
https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Flow-Discussion/Microsoft-Forms-answer-specific-emails/m-p/73716/highlight/true#M10100

You could get more details from this doc about workflow definition language:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/logic-apps/logic-apps-workflow-definition-language

Please have a try with it.

About your last question, you could create an app based on PowerBI, then you are able to flag an opportunity on the app. Whenever an opportunity is flagged, the flow would be triggered.

Hope this could be a reference for you.
