Dynamics 365 to MailChimp (Dataverse confusion)

We have a few different service orientated mailing options which are housed and updated on our Dynamics 365 contact forms. We also have a charity wide Newsletter which is managed through MailChimp. I'd like to be able to create a flow which checks to see if a contact page has been created or modified to include that the contact has signed up or been taken off one of these mailing lists. It should then reflect this within MailChimp.

It was clearly suggesting that I should use Dataverse but this seemed far too confusing for me and I didn't know where to start.  Whereas with the legacy connectors that were available for D365 I was able to connect new contacts to the MailChimp as a start and sadly as an end.

I have been recommended to get a paid for connector but I have the feeling it'd be useful for me to learn more of Dataverse for other future uses.  Is it possible through Dataverse?  Is there something I could read/watch to learn?  I am not a trained IT Professional but have an interest as the more IT savvy staff member in a small charity.
