ERP Cutover Project Flow

Hello, first post here! Question about building a Microsoft Flow. So the current company I work for has ERP Cutovers. A project manager basically has Microsoft Project open and goes down the list of project tasks and emails teams for that task to start their task.

Example: Task #245 is ready to call out. Project Manager emails the networking team saying you can begin task #245 (Assigning new IP address, etc.). Once that team completes that task, they email back to the project manager, "Finished". The project manager then marks complete for that task and goes to the next. Task #246, #250, and #251 can now start. Project manager emails Server team for task #246, and emails Data Team for task #250, etc.

Basically, what I am trying to do is instead of someone sitting at their computer marking off tasks complete and sending out emails, if this can be automated using Microsoft Flow. Sorry for the lengthy message and any questions, let me know. Thanks!

Re: ERP Cutover Project Flow

Hi @Johnny5461,

Are you working with Project Online? Do you want to send out the reminder of a task and update the status to “Finish” automatically?

I assume that it is possible to send out a reminder email to someone to notify them to start the task.

Please use the trigger Recurrence so that it can run daily automatically. For testing, I used Button trigger.

Then List tasks from the specific Project Id.

Add a Condition using the following code to get tasks that will start the next day:

@equals(formatDateTime(items('Apply_to_each')?['Start'], 'yyyy-MM-dd'),formatDateTime(adddays(utcnow(),1),'yyyy-MM-dd'))

If yes, send out the reminder email to someone.

However, to mark complete for a task, I am afraid that it cannot be achieved currently as there is no action can be used to Update a Project Online task. There is a similar request on Flow Ideas Forum, please vote the idea at here:
