ERROR Get tables Excel - Error 400

Hi All,

I am trying to build a Flow to get an Email attachment Unzip it and then add then getting the rows from the XLS file to a new XLSX file. When I create the flow I just can get rid of the error 400 in the Get Tables.

Any idea why? the XLs doesn't have any predefined Tables, but I can assign them one automatically with MSFlow, right?

Here is the error:

 "status": 400,
  "message": "Failed to read metadata from file source. Response from the end service is : Bad Request\r\nclientRequestId: 96b1c7a8-13ba-43d7-9c49-0d136a342304\r\nserviceRequestId: 96b1c7a8-13ba-43d7-9c49-0d136a342304;96b1c7a8-13ba-43d7-9c49-0d136a342304",
  "source": "excel-ne.azconn-ne.p.azurewebsites.net"

This is when the flow is failing:

Hi @Jmenas,

Could you share the full screenshots of your Flow configuration?

It seems that the Get tables action configuration does not meet the requirements.

I am not sure what "getting the rows from the XLS file to a new XLSX file" means.

Is all the rows from the excel file in the attachment, and then inserted into the table of the new excel file? Or something else?

Could you provide more explanations about this, which helps to understand and build a Flow that can fulfill such needs.

Please provide more details and we would provide proper workaround for you.

Best Regards,

Barry

Hi @v-bacao-msft,

Here are the Flow details that you mentioned:

About the XLS and XLSX, these are the file extensions. The point of the excel is to create a workaround the issue with the .xls format. I need to add the rows to a .xlsx master file so it can be consumed in PBI Service. If you know a better way let me know.

Here are the screenshots of the complete flow:

You can't do a get tables if you haven't got tables defines. You will have to use the create table first.

@Pieter_Veenstra
Thanks I tried to create the table but I get this error when I create it:

Message:

"status"400,
"Der Ausdruck \"drives('01XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXQ')/items/fileXY.1111.xls\" ist ungültig.\r\nclientRequestId: 4d56e04a-e66b-XXXXXXXX-Xxxx-xxxx"
,

Any Idea why? I tried to define the correct path in the OneDrive directory (dynamically) but I always get the error. I think the document library is wrongly defined. but What it is exactly the Flow doc is not so clear.

Best,
J.

Can you try to set a range of A1:J20 as a test?

Could it be that a different table already exists in the sam location?

Can you try it with a clean new spreadsheet?
