Edit properties not immediately trigger the flow

Hi

I have created a flow aim for parallel content approval in a document library. Simple flow is started with Trigger: When a file is created or modified (properties only). Senario: A file is uploaded to document library and choice column 'ApprovalStatus' with default value as "New". When user updates the field ApprovalStatus to "Submit for approval" then will proceed to start content approval task. Kindly find screenshot below.

From the history:
1. When a file is uploaded, Flow is triggered.
2. Edited field to "Submit for approval", no trigger found in the history. (But later i found it exists in history)

Question:

1. Is it the Modified item properties not immediately reflect the flow?
2. What's wrong with Condition checking as it return false eventhough the compose value is "Submit for approval"

Re: Edit properties not immediately trigger the flow

Hi @CYung ,

I think it's part of the reason why the flow didn't triggered immediately.

I have another question, which plan do you use with the flow?

For different plans, the Maximum flow frequency is different.

Re: Edit properties not immediately trigger the flow

Ok, I got the mistake on the #2 question. It should be "ApprovalStatus Value". Didn't notice there is [columnname Value] option in dynamic content. I will be good if the title section under dynamic content can be expanded and collapsed.

Re: Edit properties not immediately trigger the flow

Hi @CYung ,

I have made some tests on my side.

It doesn't has the issue you have mentioned.

The flow will be triggered  immediately when a file is created or modified (properties only).

Re: Edit properties not immediately trigger the flow

Hi Zhongys,

Thanks for the reply. I found the flow history listed after 3-4 minutes after edited and saved one of the item properties. The document library has total 29 columns created to keep information. E.g. Department1ReviewBy, Department1ReviewStatus, Department1ReviewComment, Department1ApproveBy, Department1ApproveStatus, Department1ApproveComment. Could it be the more columns created, longer time it takes to response?

Re: Edit properties not immediately trigger the flow

Hi Zhongys,

I think if not mistaken I'm using the free one (Microsoft Flow for Office 365).  If a file is created/uploaded, I can see it's history immediately after few sconds. Just the properties modification and saved took more minutes.  Only few times it did show result in few seconds.
