Email if row does not exist in sharepoint list

I have 2 lists in sharepoint: workday, checkin.

I would like to send an email if

  1. workday has a row for status_cd = 'Active' and intended_office_date = today.  Use get items - working.
  2. for every row from step 1 - if a row does not exist in checkin for employee for today, send an email.

Step 2 - I cannot figure out how to check for 0 rows in another list. I have the iteration over workday and the email, but is it possible to check for 0 rows in a list in sharepoint based on a get items output?

Re: Email if row does not exist in sharepoint list

Hello @coyote_ptm

Yes, it could be done - if there is a way to identify that an item in list "Checkin" belongs to the item in list "Workday". Is there?

Assuming there is, then the "Get items" action to get the items from "Checkin" that are related to the item in "Workday" needs to use the "Filter query" field to get only items related to the "Workday" item. Example:

Workday/Id eq item()?['ID']

where Workday/Id is the lookup column in "Checkin" to the item in "Workday", and item()?['ID'] is the ID of the current item of Workday items being processed in the "Apply to each" loop.

Anyway, waiting for your reply on the above.

Kind regards, John
