I am trying to send an approval email with options (approve & 4 reject reason buttons) , including a single attchment which is taken from a sharepoint list.
Unfortunatly i am getting below error ,
Please help me to resolve this issue or tell me a better way to achive the requirement.
I don't think you can use the Identifier dynamic content the way you are using it. Your trigger is an Item. Since Items can have 0,1 or more attachments the identifier dynamic content would need to be a collection object if it pointed to attachments. But its clearly a single value since it doesn't force a loop. I think that;s the identifier for the Item, not the attachment in the item. So the file metadata being returned is null. What you want instead is the Get Attachments action. That retrieves the documents attached to the lsit item. Then you can use Get attachment content to get the file contents.
Thanks @Pstork1 for the replay.
I have been using "Get attchments" and "Get attchment contents" for this requirement, but since i have more than 8 nested levels with in the loop (apply to each) , it's not allowing me go further. Therefore i went for the single attchment approch to come out of the loop.
Can you show me a sample to send an email (email with options) with a attchment from sharepoint list.
One more thing , can you explain more about the "I think that's the identifier for the Item, not the attachment in the item".
Let me see about putting together a sample.
YOu are using the identifier that comes from the original Trigger, which is that an Item was modified. The identifier is for the item itself, and not the attachments connected to the item. YOu can use it to get the Attachments using the Get attachements action, but you can't use it wiht the Get file action because it points to an Item not a file.
Thanks @Pstork1 for the clarification.
Is there any other way to get an attchment from a sharepoint list (other than 'apply to each' loop) or tell me a way to come out of the loop.
waiting for your sample !!!
Really no way to do it other than a loop since you don't know if there is zero, one or multiple attachements.
