Error 404 with Get file metadata using path

Hi there! Smiley Happy

Here's another trouble I put myself in: depending on a new SP list item created, I set a variable. This variable is a path to a file located on the default document library.

Here is how my flow looks like:

flow Get file using path.PNG

And here is the error:

Get file using path error.png

The message (in French) says: The file /sites/my_site_name/documents_library/here_is_my_file.pdf doesn't exist.

The issue is this URL is actually right. It works properly in any web browser.

Re: Error 404 with Get file metadata using path

OK, it appears that the default document library "Documents" (Shared Documents) was the issue. And here are 3 reasons why we should not use the default library.

Creating a new library ve solved my problem.

Re: Error 404 with Get file metadata using path

Hi @ mobyFlow,

Could you please share a full screenshot of the configuration of your flow?

I have made a test on my side and don't have the issue that you mentioned.

I have initialized a path variable with string type, and the choose the dynamic content of the path variable in the "File Path" field of the "Get file metadate using path"action, the screenshot of the flow as below:

Capture.PNG

The flow would run successfully to get the file metadata using the path as screenshot below:

Capture.PNG

Please check if the file path is a exist path in your sharepoint library and check if you have initialized a correct path variable in your flow.

Or please take a try to create a simple file path in your library to see if the problem still exists.

Please let me know if your issue still exists.

Regards,
Alice Zhang

Re: Error 404 with Get file metadata using path

Hey Alice,

Thanks for taking time answering me.

Here is how I set the variable:

Initialize Variable.PNG

Whether the flow meets the nested conditions, I set different path:

Sans titre.png

And here is where I encounter the issue:

Get file using path.png

I'm gonna try a simplified version, to sort this out.
