Excel Workbook select row to trigger Cloud Flow but missing from Data Tab of Ribbon ? CloudFlowTemplate: For_a_selected_row,_complete_a_custom_action

My result differs from following quote from Description of Details:

"To trigger the flow, select a row inside your table, go to the Data tab in the Excel ribbon, and select Flow"

How to troubleshoot Flow missing, by selecting row of table, on Data Tab in Excel Ribbon ?

For the selected row trigger to work in Excel I believe you need to install the flow Office Add in.  You can do this by searching for it on the Insert menu in the Store.

Thanks for information; Since Outlook can trigger Flow w/o Add-In, I mistook Excel same.

Excel Add-In is now submitted for approval by IT which probably take some time.

Documentation shows this Add-In needed for "on-demand flows triggered by Excel"

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/business-applications-release-notes/april18/microsoft-flow/build-ru...

What about flows triggered by Incoming OWA eMail? Flow run but Excel row didn't change as expected.

Is Excel Add-In also applicable for Flow triggered by Incoming OWA eMail?

Thanks for support!

Its not so much that its Excel as it is that its "For a selected row".  The user has to choose a row in the Excel table before triggering the flow.  So you are doing it from Excel.  For the Outlook triggers its triggered by an arriving email.  That arriving Email goes to a Mailbox in Exchange.  That's where the trigger starts.  The outlook client doesn't even need to be online.  That's the difference

Thanks for speedy reply.

Can I conclude Flow triggered by OWA can output to Excel (Desktop or Web) without add-In?

A flow triggered by OWA can read and write Excel files with Tables stored in SharePoint or OneDrive using Excel Online.

Thanks, as long as I know Add-In isn't why my Template Flow isn't updating Table in OneDrive....

The add-in wouldn't have anything to do with that.  Can you post a screenshot of a recent run?  Were there any errors listed?
