Excel get rows - Error format not JSON

Hi,

I have a strange problem.

When I create a flow with a static file path to retrieve some excel lines, everything works fine.

This is of course not what I want because the name "Loan11" in my example changes.

For that reason, I added the title into the file field as follows

Making this change makes my flow fail with the following error message:

Would be great if anybody could provide me some tips or tricks to overcome this issue.

Many thanks and best regards,

Ludwig

Re: Excel get rows - Error format not JSON

Hi @lreinhard7,

Could you please share a full screenshot of your flow's configuration?

Where does your Excel file store?

Do you use the "Get a row" action of Excel Online (Business) connector to get each row of your Excel file stored in your OneDrive for Business folder?

Further, could you please share a bit more about your SharePoint list and your Excel file?

I suppose that your Excel file is stored in your OneDrive for Business folder, is it true? The error message told that the Excel file that you specified within your "Get a row" action could not be found within your OneDrive for Business folder.

Currently, specifying dynamic content within the File field of the "Get a row" action is not supported in the Excel Online (Business) connector, you could only select the Excel File through File Browser. More details about the "Get a row" action of OneDrive for Business connector, please check the following article:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/connectors/excelonlinebusiness/#get-a-row

If you would like this feature to be added in Microsoft Flow, please submit an idea to Flow Ideas Forum:

Best regards,

Kris

Re: Excel get rows - Error format not JSON

Hello Kris,

You are absolutely right with everything that you wrote.

My excel file is stored on one drive for business and I use the excel online (business) connector because my table contains calculation forumlas - the 'normal' excel get row action does not work in this case.

I need, however, a workaround if possible Smiley Happy

Do you have an idea how I could possibly copy the formula based rows in my excel table and paste values inside that overwrite the formulas?

That is, what you usually do in Excel is selecting copy & pasting values. Is a similar functionality possible through MS Flow? That would be sufficient for me.

Best regards,

Ludwig
