File approval flow - move file to another folder on approval

I have an approval flow that issues an email to approve a file when created in one folder, once approved moves the file to another folder by creating a new file and deleting the old file. The issue is that new file is unreadable / corrupt. Am I using the wrong action to move the file? Is there a better way to move a file after approval?

Re: File approval flow - move file to another folder on approval

Hi @puders,

Which cloud storage account are you using? How is your flow created? Which action are you using to move the file?

I created a flow based on OneDrive for Business, please take it for a reference.

I used Copy file and Delete file action under the If Yes branch, Copy file action will move the file to another folder and Delete file action will delete the old file. This flow works fine on my side and the new file can be checked without corruption.

Re: File approval flow - move file to another folder on approval

Hi Scott,

I managed to get the flow working based on a new 'copy and delete file' flow rather than a 'create and delete' flow.

Issue I now have is how to avoid having to many folders each with a flow for contractors who upload invoices to SharePoint site. I need for contractors to upload to the same folder but only see their own files. A question for another forum....

Hi Mabel

Thanks for the response. Per my reply to Scott, I managed to get the 'Copy and delete' flow working like you suggest.

Thanks

Bruce
