Filter Query Error in Get Items

Hello Community,

I am building a workflow that is looking up information from one SharePoint List to another, and I want to update Columns within one of my lists.

I've built my flow as follows:-

List Lookup.png

I get an Error message at the Filter Query - I want to look up the Job Reference from the Transport Booking Form and make sure they are the same, the columns are both single line of text.

error.png

I'm not the best when it comes to Filter Query, to be honest I don't really understand the eq and other options that you can enter in a filter query.

Can anyone help get me in the right direction?

Thank you in advance

Claire

Hi @ClaireAllen ,

I have made a test on my side and the expression below should work:

JobReference eq 'TheDynamicContent'

Please make sure your JobReferance column isn't a renamed column, or please take a try to delete the column and recreate it then your issue could be solved.

Best Regards,

Alice

@ClaireAllen

Are you missing a single quote at the end? It should be

Job Reference eq 'varaible<Jon Reference>'

@v-alzhan-msft ,

I have put the single quote at the end.

My Flow still fails with the same error message,

Any other ideas?

Kind regards

Claire

Hello Team,

Can you please show me the internal name of the Job Reference column if there is a space in between Job and Reference then just copy the internal name of the column as it is and try the expression, the solution here is to reference the exact name of the field.

Job_x0020_Reference  eq Your Dynamic Content

Hello @yashkamdar

The column did have a space in it, I've tried the Job_x0020_Reference and I've also tried taking the space out so it just reads JobReference, I've done a copy and paste of the column name into the Filter Query but still get an error message.

Last attempt was as follows,

Any other idea's?

Kind regards

Claire

Hello Team,

SuperAwesome but I can see a mistake, no need for you to mention the quote before and after the Dynamic content. Can you please try without that.

Hello @yashkamdar

I've taken the quote out and still have an error.

Hello Team,

Perfect, so now that this is bugging us, I would like to know the Column Type, is it a Choice Column or a Look up column ?

Please let me know.

Also can you please do this, show me the data that your Job Reference column holds, just the value from any item in your List.

I want to see what data we are dealing with here, because this is extremely straight forward but bugging you a lot which makes me think that something is wrong with the data rather than the query.

Awaiting response...

Hello @yashkamdar

It's a single line of text column

Screenshot 2020-09-14 134127.png

When I imported the list from excel to SharePoint I used the function within Excel, would this caused the issue?

Appreciate your support,

Hello Team,

Can you show this same data in SharePoint columns, are you getting the exact same data in SharePoint columns.

Hello @yashkamdar ,

These are my SharePoint Columns,

Screenshot 2020-09-14 143211.png

The only thing I did notice in the SharePoint Columns View, it makes reference to more than once Job Reference Column, but only one has been created.

Kind regards

Claire

Hello Team,

I've put the filter query back into my flow and it works okay now,
I have not removed any columns, just tried it again and all is now okay.

Thank you all for your support
