Filter SharePoint Column

Hi

I need to find a way to send recurring e-mails to item owners once a month. I have filtered the get items by open items then I want to create a list of all those mentioned (they could be on the list multiple times). I would then like to send a table to each person outlining the items they have open?

What would be the best way to implement this?

Ok, cool.  A couple of ways to approach this depending on your comfort level -

  • Probably the easiest would be to add a Select action after your Filter Array and grab just the columns that you want.  For the Initiative Owner bit, you may even be able to select a dynamic value for "Display Name", but no worries if not....
  • Another option is to add another Compose after the Filter which grabs the Display Name from the object that is currently all that mess that is being presented.  Basically, that "field" has a bunch of headers and other data, "Display Name" being one of them, and that's the bit we want to grab.  I'm not sure what the front part will look like, but the end part will probably have a ?['DisplayName'] after it. ( maybe @AKRogers can help??? 😄 )

What's in the compose you have already?

Hi @Kmayes ,

It seems that you want to group according to the person field and then send emails to the users separately.

Please consider referring to this similar thread:

Thank you this is exactly what I was after 🙂

One question though the HTML table is not the desired outcome I want to display in the e-mail to each individual, do you know how I can format this to only display the items that I want to show from my list? Ive tried a couple of option but failing on the outcome 😞

@Kmayes

Hi there - So, the Filter Array step is probably the thing you'll want to edit, depending on what exactly you want to filter on to get the list of things for that person.

After the filter, you can do whatever you'd like with the data.  I think the HTML table is the cleanest way to present in an email, but that's totally up to you.

Yes 100% I want to display the data in an HTML table.

But I cant append the output of a filter array to format in the way I want, for example one of the columns is people field therefore it displays all the persons details name e-mail job title etc but I only want it to display the persons name therefore I need to format the output of the filtered array how could I apply this?

@Kmayes

Ah, ok.  Can you post a pic of what you have so far?  It will be better to work from what is already familiar to you rather than going from my example.

Thanks!
