Filter on owner name in trigger

Writing a new flow over Dynamics Contacts, I want to filter on ownerid.  I want to not run the flow for a given owner.  How do I get the owner in a string, rather than getting the guid? 

 

Essentially, I want to trigger the flow if the owner is not "Bob".

Hi @Anonymous ,

 

Filtering attribute : ownerid 

Filtering expression : _ownerid_value eq guid . 

 

However , this combination is not working. I would suggest you add filter condition in the next step and try doing the same like 

_ownerid_value does not equal guid

Hi @Anonymous ,

 

I am afraid that in this trigger we can only use the owner id as a filter. The Trigger body does not contain the Owner's name.

You can add Condition directly below and use the Owner name as a filter.

Thank you for the suggestion.

 

Earlier, I gave up on using a filter and resorted to using a condition, just as you show.  However, the record (a contact) is sometimes owned by a User and sometimes by a Team.  I don't know which  - and an error is returned at the 'get record'.

You can first check whether the owner type is teams or systemusers by using Condition.

 

If it is a team, you can get the owner's name from the Teams entity.

That does make sense... thank you.

 

However...  the field comes up blank!

I mean you add Condition under the trigger to determine whether the Owner type of Contact is team or systemusers.

 

Owner may also be empty, which is also a factor you need to consider.

I threw the  'compose' step in so I could see why the condition was failing.  It's not pulling in the Owner Type.  When I added a 'get record' step, it shows the value of the owner(type) field as 'team':

but I can't see why the Condition step can't find the value for Owner(type).
