Find Today() date on an Excel file then send email.

Hi all, first post here and practically new to Flow,

I need to create a Flow which finds a date on an Excel file column named NotificationDate, if date matches today's date (dynamic) send an email to email@domain.com

the sending email part is clear to me, but not how to compare each cell for the defined column and trigger that email.

What should be the format for the date cell on the excel file?

what's the expression needed to compare the dates?

the whole purpose of this is to create a list of contracts and licenses with their respective expiration date and trigger email notifications 30 days prior to the expiration date. Recurrence would be every day at 11AM.

I would be great if the Excel table which stores my data could be sent on those notifications.

thanks in advance.

Mario F.

Hi @mayoal,

If here you only want to compare Excel date with today() then we could specify the condition as below:

Formula reference:

@equals(
   formatDateTime(items('Apply_to_each')?['Date'], 'yyyy/MM/dd'),
   UTCNow('yyyy/MM/dd')
     )

Michael

That's exactly what I needed

Now, I will try to email me the complete row with the matching date so I don't have to open the Excel file.

Thanks a lot for your help.

 Hi @v-micsh-msft

My case is similar to Mayoal. I have 2 columns in excel, one is "Userid", another one is "Date". I want to send email to those email address stored in column "Userid" if  the column "date" equal to today().

I got error " ActionFailed. An action failed. No dependent actions succeeded." on the "send email " action. Any idea?

Thanks

Hi @ssw

Did you ever find your solution to this? got more or less the same scenario and wondered how you resolved this and if you can share your solution please.

Thanks

Hi, I did got this working

mi condition is like this:

@equals( formatDateTime(items('Apply_to_each')?['NotificationDate'], 'yyyy/MM/dd'),

where NotificationDate is the date I want this Flow to email me when found.

This flow needs more love, when the date matches I do get the email as expected but it sends me the whole file, not just the info with matching date.

Hope this helps, and I would really appreciate if someone knows how to get my Flow sending only matching data.

Will feedback if I can get this working as that would be ideal!
