Flow Approval - Capture date nomination as well as response comments

Hello, wondering if anyone knows how to capture a nominated date from an approver in addition to response comments captured in the Approve action.  We hope to pass both approver comments and this nominated date to Sharepoint Document library metadata columns - Comments and Nomination date.

Thanks

Re: Flow Approval - Capture date nomination as well as response comments

@Brice235i  oh, if you want to ask about the date in the same Approval mail, you can do this by telling your users to send the date in the comments box. And then I recomend you to make something like a templete for example.

Date: 12-12-2020

Coments: sdsdfsdfsdfsdfsdfsdf

And then in a compose you can use fuctions to get only the date but this can works only inf your users respects your template.

Dynamically there is not a way to extract yous the date from string.

@Brice235i Are you wanting to record the date that each approver responded/took action on the approval?

hi @Brice235i  if you want yo know what is de date when the approver approves and send a coment, you can add in you YES part a compose acction that resque you current date.

Here an example

utc.PNG

formatDateTime(utcNow(),'yyyy-MM-dd')

and then you can send this output to a field in sharepoint

Re: Flow Approval - Capture date nomination as well as response comments

Thank you, no, the date is not the date at which the approval task was actioned.  We need to ask the approver in addition to recording their decision and response comments, we need them to nominate a date in the future for when a particular project is to commence. This date would then be added to a SharePoint date field.  I don't see how this is possible in Flow... might have to use a PowerApp or form?

Re: Flow Approval - Capture date nomination as well as response comments

Hello @ChristianAbata

I have a similar Flow where they suggest a Date in the Responses Comments.

I'd like to know if it's possible to retrieve that Date and use it to create an Event in an SPO Calendar.

How would the User have to write the Date and how can it be input into a Calendar as Start/End Date, if at all possible?
