Flow compatible functions other than the ones defined in WDL

Hi!

When following answers from @v-xida-msft in the following thread

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Flows/What-is-the-correct-syntax-for-subtractFromTime-v...

I realized there are functions not defined in WDL like subtractFromTime() that can also be used in MS Flow. Can anybody provide a link where these additional functions are detailed?

Thank you in advance!

Thanks for the tip!

So we should take as reference not only the functions declared in WDL document but also the additional ones declared in the expression tab, right?

I have found the following functions available at the expression tab but not in WDL documentation, all of them date-time related, I am posting them just in case somebody else like me is used to check available functions in the WDL link:

getFutureTime(interval, timeUnit, format?)

Returns a timestamp an integer number of a specified unit of time in the future

getPastTime(interval, timeUnit, format?)

Returns a timestamp an integer number of a specified unit of time in the past

addToTime(timestamp, interval, timeUnit, format?)

Adds an integer number of a specified unit of time to a string timestamp passed in

subtractFromTime(timestamp, interval, timeUnit, format?)

Subtracts an integer number of a specified unit of time from a string timestamp passed in

convertTimeZone(timestamp, sourceTimeZone, destinationTimeZone, format?)

Converts a string timestamp passed in from a source time zone to a target time zone

convertToUtc(timestamp, sourceTimeZone, format?)

Converts a string timestamp passed in from a source time zone to UTC

convertFromUtc(timestamp, destinationTimeZone, format?)

Converts a string timestamp passed in from a UTC to a target time zone

Re: Flow compatible functions other than the ones defined in WDL

Hi @efialttes,

There is no document to introduce subtractFromTime() function within Microsoft Flow in detail currrently, but you could use it following the prompt that the subtractFromTime() function provided in Expression tab:2.JPG

The subtractFromTime() function substract an integer number of a specified unit of time from a string timestamp passed.

The first parameter of subtractFromTime() function requires a string timestamp. The second parameter requires the number of a specified time unit to subtract. The third parameter requires the unit of time specified in the interval to subtract (e.g. 'Day'). The forth parameter is optional, which is used to specify time format.

Best regards,

Kris

Re: Flow compatible functions other than the ones defined in WDL

If a user types a date in a date field in SharePoint, how does MS Flow receive it?  Is it in UTC?  I am building a flow that will pull 'get items' then filter the array for those customer interactions that are resolved (i.e. have a Close Date).

Filter Array issue.JPG

My flow is failing, at this first filter array, with this error:

InvalidTemplate. The execution of template action 'Filter_array' failed: The evaluation of 'query' action 'where' expression '@lessOrEquals(ticks(item()?['CLOSE_x0020_Date']), ticks(utcNow()))' failed: 'The template language function 'ticks' expects its parameter to be a string that represents a timestamp. The provided value is of type 'Null'. Please see https://aka.ms/logicexpressions#ticks for usage details.'.
