Flow converts date from dd/MM/yyyy to MM/dd/yyyy

Hello

I have a date column that needs to be formatted in Australian time, so I have the expression as:  formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(), +7), 'dd/MM/yyyy')

But every time I run/test the flow it keeps changing it back to formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(), +7), 'MM/dd/yyyy') and moving the month back to the beginning.

How do I force Flow to keep it at my preferred option?

Thanks Smiley Happy

Hi @xxxxmints ,

No, just use it directly:

addDays(utcNow(),7,'dd/MM/yyyy')

You can also try to use this expression in Compose to get the data, and then fill the output of Compose to the corresponding location in the email.

Re: Flow converts date from dd/MM/yyyy to MM/dd/yyyy

Hi @xxxxmints ,

When you edit Expression, do you click Update? After you click Update, it will apply your modified expression.

Please try again.

Also, you mean that this value is assigned to a specified column? Please confirm whether the format of this Date column is "MM/dd/yyyy". If it is, even if the format is modified in Flow, the format will follow the setting of this column.

Unless you change the type of this column to text, it will be displayed according to the format set in Flow.

Hope it makes senses.

Re: Flow converts date from dd/MM/yyyy to MM/dd/yyyy

Hi

Thanks for your response.

It is in the body of the email in the flow that I use the expression. After I change it to dd/MM/yyyy I click on update and then I check it and it reverts back to MM/dd/yyyy - just like the pic below.

Hi @xxxxmints ,

In your screenshot, the expression inside seems to be MM/dd/yyyy.

Or you can use an expression like this:

addDays(utcNow(),7,'dd/MM/yyyy')

Re: Flow converts date from dd/MM/yyyy to MM/dd/yyyy

Yes, the screenshot says MM/dd/yyyy because it keeps converting to that.

Do you mean

formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(),7),'dd/MM/yyyy')
