Flow falling over when it tried to send an email from a Shared Mailbox?

Hi

 

I've inherited some Flows and I'm trying to get them to run using s service user account.

 

It runs fine up until it hits an action to send an email from a Shared Mailbox:

Earlier in the Flow it sends an email using the same address fine, it just seems to have a problem when it gets to the 'Send from a Shared Mailbox' action? It doesn't fall over at this action if I run it from a user account. This is the error I'm getting:

Any ideas?

Check if you can send as a shared mailbox being logged as this account via OWA or via Outlook for Windows.

Thanks @VictorIvanidze  I'll check but wouldn't the fact that earlier in the Flow it uses the 'Send email' action with the shared email address earlier on in the Flow suggest that it has? 

Could you please explain why did you decide to change the action from "Send an email" to "Sens an email from a shared mailbox"?

I inherited the Flow and the action was always a 'Send from a Shared mailbox' action. Thought I might just be able to replace it with a normal 'Send email action' but then when I was doing some testing I got a confirmation email - obvious after the Flow has kicked off an external process - address to the service user account when it should be addressed to a manager. Now, it's possible that I could make this work, but it would be quicker and easier if I could get the 'Send from a Shared Mailbox' action to work with the service user account.

Hmm, I stumped a bit. You wrote in the first request:

That's the kicker, nothing. It falls over at the Shared Mailbox action. The one difference between the two Flows is that one is running on a user account (works fine) and the other runs on the service use account (falls over at the share mailbox action)

It means the user account has  right to send as a shared mailbox but the service account hasn't.

I had to put a work around in place where it's just a normal send from action and that worked

As part of a new monthly feature in the Community, we are excited to share that Drew Poggemann is our featured Super User for the month of February 2024.
