I'm trying to create a Flow that sends me an email when an Azure DevOps item is Assigned to an alias. For the field "Assigned To" I've tried listing it as alias@microsoft.com, [TEAM FOUNDATION]\alias, and just alias, but none are triggering the Flow.
Proud to be a Flownaut!
Hi @jecota ,
It is recommended to pick Team Name and Assigned To from the dropdown list.
When you test, please ensure you have assigned an item in the specified Organization and Project.
Best Regards,
I chose a Team Name from the dropdown and was able to find the correct Assigned To starting with "vstfs:///Framework/IdentityDomain/" but once saved, this still doesn't trigger any action.
I also checked the Organization and Project and they all match.
Hi @jecota ,
Have you specified a work item type?
Following is my flow configuration, I picked the option from the dropdown list to configure these four fields.
And the flow could be triggered normally, the following is the flow run history:
Have you saved the update after you have assigned to one user?😄
Best Regards,
@v-bacao-msft, yes I specified a Work Item Type and Saved after all changes.
Below is my configuration and it is not able to be triggered as I believe the "Assigned To" is not being recognized.
Hi @jecota ,
A few of my concerns are that your function displays preview, and mine is premium.
The second is that when I assign Assigned To, I choose the email address of the relevant user, but the configuration on your side seems to be different. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with vstfs. Will this affect the triggering of Flow?
Finally, when you test, make sure that you assign users to the RDQuota work item.
Best Regards,
Hi @v-bacao-msft,
I've updated my function to premium to match yours and have identified that the problem is still with the Assigned To field. If I assign it to my individual email, the flow triggers successfully, the problem is I'm trying to assign it to an aad team created within Azure DevOps and this doesn't seem to trigger correctly. The long identifier "vstfs:///Framework/IdentityDomain/..." is what shows up for me in the dropdown once I select the Team Name.
Does this function just not work with an aad group?
Hi @jecota ,
Maybe we could not assign a work item to a group.
The hint in this filed is “The name of the member who currently owns the work item”.
So, I am afraid that it is a limitation to configure this field.

Best Regards,
hi @jecota,
I have same problem, too.
Do you solve it now?
I tried to use 'custom item', input our team members' mail address(like abc@xxx.com, def@xxx.com), but it cannot be trigged either.😥
