Flow problem in adding an attachment to a SharePoint Library

Need some help.

I am successfully adding incoming Outlook email attachments (Excel, Word, PDF, PPT) to various SharePoint Libraries but the problem is that some of the attachments have the same name and are sent daily (I do not have the ability to influence the attachment name).  The existing file is constantly being overwritten.

With versioning turned on I can capture the file in the library but this would not be an appropriate approach for read only users who want to see older versions.  What I need to do is create a new record each day.

I therefore amended the *File name to include the *Received Time so that each new attachment would be unique (see image below).  The flow runs fine but the attachment added to the SharePoint library is saved as a text file not as Excel or Word.

I am not an expert - any straight forward solutions available for this problem?

Hi @SteveHancock777

Yo need to add the extension in the filename for the create file action. right now it is just ending with the timestamp and so is not working as expected.

Re: Flow problem in adding an attachment to a SharePoint Library

Hi @SteveHancock777 ,

You could consider changing the position of Attachments Name and Received Time so that the problem can be solved.

Please take a try.

Add the extension of the document, you can get the extension from the properties of the attachment
