Flow to check if ID exists in a sharepoint list.

Hi all,

I am trying to work on a flow which is triggered when an item is added or modified in a SharePoint list.
When the item is modified, I use GetItem to get that edited or added item.

Then I want to check that if that ID exists in the other SharePoint list, I am using GetItems with an ODATA filter to get the items from the other list.
Everything works fine till now.

Then I use apply to each and a condition inside the loop to compare the ID with each line item, but unfortunately, the flow is failing on the condition which appears to be true to me.

Please find the attached some screenshots to help you understand the issue.

Thanks in advance. 😄

Hi @Anonymous ,

You still don't share the error in the flow.

Please Click the Condition 2 in the first loop to see why if fails:

Hi @Anonymous

You didn't mention what error you are getting. Could you please explain more about the error details?

Thanks

That is the only error I am getting, its there in the third screenshot.
Basically the flow is returning an error in the condition where it should be true.

If you click on the next failed inside the loop and expand the below steps should generally give the error details.

Hi @Anonymous ,

What is the requirement for your flow?

It is pointless to check if a item id in a list is existed in another list. do you compare the in the Condition 2? if yes, the flow would most possible to run failed.

And as @abm  said, you need to click the Condition in the flow run history to see the error message so we could troubleshooting a flow.

And you flow maybe run failed in the Condition 2 since the Condition to check if the Title is equals in the two list wouldn't run failed.

What is the action in your Condition 2?

So you need to share the full screenshot of flow and run history.

So the flow should basically perform these steps:
1) Once an item is added or modified in SharePoint list A, it should grab the OrderID, AssetID and JobID for that item.
2) Run a loop to compare OrderID from list A to OrderIDs in list B(SharePoint).
3) If the OrderIDs from list A and B match, it should then check if AssetID and JobID also match. If it can't match the AssetID and JobID, it sends an email notification.
4) If all the 3 fields get a positive match, it takes the remaining 25 fields from the item in list A and populates a word document using those, converts it to a pdf and emails it to me.

I am trying to retrieve 5 items as of now out of the 10 items in the list, no problem with that!!
Asset ID (Title) for one of the 5 items matches the Title of the item which I added in list B.
Flow is comparing and if the Titles don't match, it's running fine and going into the NO condition, but if they match (that's what I think) , it is returning an error.

That is failing because condition 1 failed.
If condition 1 fails then all the subsequent conditions fail!!
Forget about condition 2 for now , I want to know why is condition 1 failing ?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Why are you don't understand our suggestion...

Just click the Condition 2 and you would see the error in the If yes branch of the Condition 2!!!!!

Don't you want to solve the issue????

Hi @Anonymous ,

So what is the error message in the Update item action?

Share the configuration screenshot and the run history screenshot of the Update item action so we could better understand you.
