Flow to update sharepoint properties with PowerApps variables

Hi all,

I can't quite seem to work this one out, or find a solution online. If there is a thread I have missed, please point me in theright direction!

I am trying to use the submission of a form linked to a SharePoint list in power apps as a trigger. This will extract two variables, OldID and NewID, and use these to update a different doc library or list.

The process I had in mind was to use 'OldID' to find the relevant entries and update the ID field to 'NewID'. I have tried a few different approaches, but have included a picture to illustrate. I know its a long way off but I've been trying this for a couple of days and just can't seem to get it to work!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use the Ask In PowerApps dynamic content entry in those fields.  That will add two text parameters to the run command in PowerApps so you can submit the old and new ids.  Here's a short flow that uses a PowerApps trigger and ask in PowerApps to populate a variable. Just insert the Ask in PowerApps dynamic content where you need to use the ids.

I don't see a picture in your post.  But if you are trying to update the ListItem ID, then that's not really going to be possible.  The ListItem ID is a system property and it can't be changed.  Is that the problem you are facing?

Hopefully this photo upload will work.

It is not the system IDs that need changing but another number, generated elsewhere (outside SharePoint) and manually entered, which needs updating. Although they are numbers, they have to be stored as text as some have a leading 0
