Form Author not getting CC'd

Hello -

I have a flow that takes a form and adds it to a SharePoint. I then have another form that sends an automated email to someone. All that works great!

What isn't working is the person who fills out the Microsoft form is not receiving a CC of the automated email sent out from the flow in Sharepoint (2nd pic). Along with this, the body/Author/Display name is showing MY name in the email (I created the flows) rather than the person who completed the form.

Does anyone know how to go about making it so the submitter of the form gets the CC along with their name in the body. Thank you!!!!

Hi @kylevallentine

I had mentioned the responders email right back at the start but also pointed out that you have the get response details in an apply to each.  You will therefore be getting the response details for the same form submission multiple times and potentially with undesirable effects.  My recommendation would be to have your trigger for when a new response is submitted with the get response details action immediately after.  Then you should have access to the dynamic field responders email.  Note thought that if you allow anonymous submissions or the form is public, it's possible that you won't capture this field and you would have to ask the end user to supply an email.

You can very quickly test that you have the reponders email with the following flow:

Hi @kylevallentine

When I build a new form, the user who submitted the form is "Responders' Email":

I note you use "created by email" in the CC.  Can you try sticking "Created by email" in a compose and that will let you see the dynamic value.  Most likely the reason they don't get CC'd is because the dynamic value you have chosen is empty but I could be wrong.

That didn't work either. I am thinking it has something to do with "Get user profile) that connects to our global address system, but I don't know how to incorporate that.

I could also be 100% wrong too, ha.

@kylevallentine add the Office 365 Users Get user profile (v2) action and then in the email To or CC field select Mail from the Get user profile (v2) section of the dynamic content.

Hi @kylevallentine

Hi, I didn't spot this before but your flow is using an apply to each.  This is not required.  You should have when a form response is received, get response details and create item.  Maybe worth starting this again and also looking back at the history of the flow run to see what field contains the email you are looking for.  You should see it in get response details output in the history of a previous flow run.

Damien

The Office profile works correctly in my first flow, but the second flow that delegates who gets a notification email doesn't pull up any Office 365 dynamic content and there isn't a  "created by" in any form there.

@kylevallentine the create by email will always pick up YOUR email as the owner of the flow. If you want the email of the person of the person who submitted the form you need ton use Responder's email.

Is there an expression for that? The dynamic content doesn't have a responders email option.
