Forms - Send email if question is not left blank. Do nothing if it is blank.

Hi everyone

I'm struggling with this and have searched for help but can't quite find the answer so hope you can help.

I have a flow linked to MS Forms. One question asks the form responder if they require additional support. If they do, they select the support they want. If they don't, they leave it blank.

Could anyone advise how best to do this please? I've tried to use the Condition option, but I just can't figure out what to put in it. It's tricky as there are about 10 support options, and they are not yes/no responses. Really I need it to be like this:

- Is the question response blank? If yes, do nothing. If no, send an email.

Hope you can help and many thanks in advance 🙂

Best wishes,

Michael

Hi @mrpepltd ,

What you should enter is, the question in your form.

Hi @mrpepltd ,

I suggest you use swtich action to do different operations on different options.

I made a test for your reference.

Many thanks for your very prompt reply, Dezhi. I think that would work. I was hoping for something that would allow additional support options to be added to the form, without having to also go back and amend the flow. Any thoughts?

Hi @mrpepltd ,

We don't currently have a way to automatically set some options on forms.
We have to manually set up the form before flow can recognize it.

Thanks @v-dezhili-msft

What I mean is, if I amend the form later to add extra support options, I would need to then go back and amend the flow to include the extra options added to the form.

What I really would like is something much simpler:

If question is left blank - do nothing

If question options are selected - send email

How may I achieve this please?

Many thanks.

Michael

Hi @mrpepltd ,

You could use empty() to determine whether your option is empty, if it is, do nothing, and if it is not, it will send an email.
