Forms to Sharepoint -> Only update item if question has an answer.

Hey all,

I've been trying to figure out of this is possible but I'm not sure if it is.

I have a form that I'm using to update a Sharepoint List. What I want to do is only update the list if the question has been answered.

eg:

My form has several sections, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc. and I want people to be able to do them at different times.

So if someone accesses the form and only completes 2.1 it will update all the fields for 2.1

If someone then later accesses the form and only completes 2.2 it will update the 2.2 fields but then will erase the responses from 2.1 because it's also updating 2.1 as incomplete.

I've been tossing the idea around of only updating if the field is blank but that won't work either. I just don't want any new responses to blank out existing fields.

Splitting the form is not an option so anything I do needs to be inside flow.

Any ideas?

Re: Forms to Sharepoint -> Only update item if question has an answer.

Hi @rys ,

I am afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in Microsoft Flow currently.

There is no trigger to monitor the separate section of form.

So you can't get the data of the separate section, then updating the item in list.

If you would like this feature to be added in Microsoft Flow, please submit an idea to Flow Ideas Forum:
