My Flow is triggered when a file is created or modified on sharepoint. I am currently checking the filename of the upload so it only stores the data from files that contain the word 'Workbook'.
If yes then Get Row (Excel for Business) then add to sharepoint list, I have to manually select a excel file for it to work.
However, I want this to work for all Excel Files with 'Workbook' in the title. I've tried entering the dynamic file/location name here but it fails each time, I'm not sure if there needs to be a specific format for this to work?
(The table names in each Excel file will be the same)
Please Help 🙂
Hi @ lcrossling,
Could you please share a screenshot of the configuration of your flow?
Could you please share more details about the error that you meet when the flow runs?
If you use the trigger when a file is created or modified on sharepoint, even though the file is a excel file, you couldn't use the "Get Rows" to get the row of the excel file, the action wouldn't support you to enter the dynamic file/location name to get the excel file, all action of excel would process a existing excel file currently.
So if you would like to get the row of the excel file, you could save the excel file in your onedrive or sharepoint library firstly, and then you could get row of the excel file and have some process on it.
Please let me know if your problem could be solved.
Hi @ lcrossling,
Your flow run failed because you have enter the dynamic content of file name in the "File" field of "Get a row" action.
The required value in the "File" field of "Get a row" action is the file path, you could only choose a file in the "File" field of "Get a row" action to get a file.you couldn't write a file path in the "File" field of "Get a row" action.
If you would like to write a file path in the "File" field of "Get a row" action in Microsoft Flow, please submit an idea to Flow Ideas Forum:
Please let me know if your question could be solved.
