Get ITem selected items are missing fields with no data

The Get Items action returns a set of items, but the items where optional fields are blank or have no data are not included in the Output.  Why is this?  I am trying to create an action that sends an email with the information from the Get Items but since not all fields are present, the flow fails with error that property is not selectable

Re: Get ITem selected items are missing fields with no data

Hi @FernandoV ,

Could you provide full screenshots of Flow configuration and details of the Expression configuration?

If you are referring to an optional field is a Person/Group type field, you need to be aware of whether it is set to "Allow multiple selections".

If so, then using the expression in your screenshot is unable to get related properties such as email.

Because it outputs an array instead of a JSON object, as below:

Allow multiple selections

"User": [
        {
          "@odata.type": "#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedUser",
          "Claims": "i:0#.f|membership|barrycao@orgdomain.onmicrosoft.com",
          "DisplayName": "Barry",
          "Email": "barrycao@Orgdomain.onmicrosoft.com",
          "Picture": "https://orgdomain.sharepoint.com/sites/barryTest/_layouts/15/ ",
          "Department": null,
          "JobTitle": null
        }
      ]

Not allow multiple selections

"User": {
        "@odata.type": "#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedUser",
        "Claims": "i:0#.f|membership|barrycao@orgdomain.onmicrosoft.com",
        "DisplayName": "Barry",
        "Email": "barrycao@Orgdomain.onmicrosoft.com",
        "Picture": "https://orgdomain.sharepoint.com/sites/barryTest/_layouts/15/ ",
        "Department": null,
        "JobTitle": null
      }

You could try to solve your problem in the following ways:

  • Please make sure that the Expression you are using is valid and that the corresponding field value is preferably not empty.
  • If the optional fields you mentioned contain only one user, then don't set this field to "Allow multiple selections".

Please take a try.
