Get Planner tasks that have been complete in the past 7 days

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to get all planner tasks that have been completed in the past 7 days in a plan and format it for an email like this.

Task -

Compleated by -

Bucket -

it is proving quite difficult. if you use the action 'list tasks' all you get a plan ID but not the name, also I can't seem to get the compleated bys name

Could anyone provide any assistance or point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

Hi @surfer1978,

You can do this by filtering the "List tasks" array to remove tasks that aren't completed and weren't completed recently, looping through the remaining items and saving the details in a variable to send in an email as below:

Firstly we want to get the tasks and filter it down to the ones we want:

CompletedTasksFilter.png

Here we call list tasks for the plan that we are intested in. The first filter array filters out any tasks which have "null" for their completed date. We then filter the filtered array for Completed Date being greater than

adddays(utcNow(),-7,'yyyy-MM-dd')

to just get completed tasks within 7 days. (You could do both of these filter steps in one filter array using the advanced mode, but have left as 2 filters for clarity.)

We then initialise a variable which is going to store all the information for our completed tasks to put in an email:

COmpletedTasksInitialise.png

We then use an Apply to each to go through each task still in our filtered array. In order to get the name of the bucket we use "List buckets" and then use an apply to each to go through the list of buckets and check which one matches our current task:

CompletedTasksLoops.png

I struggled to get the name of the user who completed the task, the dynamic content only had the display name as "null", so I added a Get user profile for the Completed By user ID which then worked, not sure if this is a bug or a failing of my flow!

We then use the Compose task which includes our variable, as well as the details from the task. After this we set our variable so that this information is stored. I added the </br> to make sure that every task was on a new line.

CompletedTasksYesCondition.png

Finally, outside of both of our loops we use the Send an email task to get all of the information out via email:

CompletedTasksEmail.png

The result should look something like this:

CompletedTasksFinalEmail.png

Hope this helps!

Hi  @jwhite

This works perfectly!

Thank you so much for the detail you put in this, I learnt some new stuff!

Also I dont think it is a bug in your flow, if you inspect the created by in the task it comes out like this

{"user":{"displayName":null,"id":"e44e5d0e-4560-4022-8a94-b7776acc1abd"}}

Good solution to find the users display name!
Kind regards
