Get items by ID and put them into a mail

Hi all,

 

I have a Flow that runs when a new Order is created in a SharePoint list. In another SharePoint list are the ordered items of the order, referenced by ID:

Order List:

ID      Name

15      Person1

 

OrderedItems List

ID       Item        OrderID

1         Item1         15

2         Item2         15

I would like to send out a confirmation e-maiil to the orderer with his ordered items.

 

I am really stuck here. Can anyone support?

@Frankie701 You can use Get Items action to get items from OrderedItems List, in filter query of get items you can apply query as e.g. OrderID = 15

 

When do you want to send email when new item is added to Order list?

Hi!

For sure your challenge can be solved. JUst one question related to IrderedItems List. Is its OrderID field of type Lookup? Number? Text?

No problema. @annajhaveri 's suggestion is a the best approach, sorry I didn't realize she answered first.

In case you are not familiar with ODATA filters, you can also filter the OrderedItems List 'Get items' result by means of a 'Filter array' action block, just assign 'Get items' output as 'Filter array' input and configure the condition rule accordingly. 'Create HTML table' action block should do the trick and convert the filtered results into a simple HTML table you can insert in the body of your email

I would like to send an e-amil when a new item is created in the Order List.

Such as:

Hi Person1,

 

you just ordered:

 

Item1

Item2

Total price: xxx EUR

 

There will be some more columns for the items (such as amount and price)

And finally the total sum (price) of all items.

@Frankie70  you can configure the flow as follows:

 

1. Use "When an item is created" trigger for the flow and add Get Items action and configure it as below screenshot

2. Then add Create HTML table action to prepare list of order items to be send in email and configure it as follows:

In the From property select from Dynamic content -> Value (list of items)

in columns select custom option from dropdown and provide the column headers and column values which you want to include in email like Item Title, Price, etc

 

3. Now add Send Email action, select output of create html table from dynamic content in the body of email.
