Hello @Ahmed2 ,

you can check the content of the Body, and then navigate using the JSON notation, you just need to build the whole path of properties in an expression, for example.

outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['d']['results']['Id']

Take a look on the output you get from the HTTP request, describe the path that leads to the item Id. I wrote on this topic some time ago.

The expression was just an example, in your flow the action is probably called different. Take the whole output of the HTTP request and use it in some action, e.g. in 'Compose' action. Then copy/paste it in a text editor, that's the first part of my expression, the dynamic content that contains the response (yours will be different):

outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']

That dynamic content should contain the JSON you shared, which starts with the "value", that's the second part of the expression, you want to access the content in the "value":

outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value']

Now, when you look at the "value", you'll recognise it contains an array (the opening [ and closing ] brackets). That means that you can navigate in it in the same way as in any other array, either using the first(...) or last(...) expression, or using an index to reference a specific item in the array, e.g.

last(outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value']) = last item
first(outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value']) = first item
outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value'][0] = first item
outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value'][1] = second item
outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value'][2] = third item

Once you define which item from the array you want to access, define which property it should take (otherwise it'll take the whole item), e.g.

last(outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value'])?['FieldValue']

hello @tom_riha

thanks a lot for your clear responce, i read the article you wrote, but the output i have is different that the one mentioned in your article, in fact the values are repeated.

to give an idea, below is the output, you can see that  "FieldName" and "FieldValue" are repeated 29 times, but actually the one that i want is the last one, which containts the list ID, but when i use the expresion you mention, it just returns the first "FieldValue". how can i over come that?

thanks in advance

Then just take the last item in the 'value' array and the 'FieldValue' it contains, the principle is the same, e.g.

last(outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value'])?['FieldValue']

Hi @tom_riha

Thanks for the clarification, apologies, as i am not experiansed in JSON.

I used your suggestion, but it appears there is a problem, as i am getting this msg

"The template language expression 'body('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')['body']['value']' cannot be evaluated because property 'body' doesn't exist"

could you have an idea what went wrong?

can you also guid me on how to choose other valuse, meaning can i replace last with third etc?

The expression was just an example, in your flow the action is probably called different. Take the whole output of the HTTP request and use it in some action, e.g. in 'Compose' action. Then copy/paste it in a text editor, that's the first part of my expression, the dynamic content that contains the response (yours will be different):

outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']

That dynamic content should contain the JSON you shared, which starts with the "value", that's the second part of the expression, you want to access the content in the "value":

outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value']

Now, when you look at the "value", you'll recognise it contains an array (the opening [ and closing ] brackets). That means that you can navigate in it in the same way as in any other array, either using the first(...) or last(...) expression, or using an index to reference a specific item in the array, e.g.

last(outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value']) = last item
first(outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value']) = first item
outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value'][0] = first item
outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value'][1] = second item
outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value'][2] = third item

Once you define which item from the array you want to access, define which property it should take (otherwise it'll take the whole item), e.g.

last(outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value'])?['FieldValue']

Thanks a lot

I seems to be getting there

But the action still fails due to the out put being a string and not an array,

i belive i used the correct exprexssion.

do i need to add something else for this?

'@{last(outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value'])?['FieldValue'] }@{last(outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value'])?['FieldValue'] }' is of type 'String'. The result must be a valid array.

Don't you use the expression twice in the same place?

hello @Ahmed2 ! Can you please share your expressions in the "Apply to Each" action and in the "Compose action"?  I got stuck in this error too.

The execution of template action 'Apply_to_each_4' failed: the result of the evaluation of 'foreach' expression '@last(outputs('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')?['body']['value'])?['FieldValue']' is of type 'String'. The result must be a valid array.

I also need same as yours, to extract the ID generated from a 'Send HTTP request' action.
