Hide Fields using REST API?

I'm creating fields/columns using REST API. I want some of them to not display in the default SharePoint form (but to be visible everywhere else, such as as a list column and in list settings, etc).

Here's a screenshot of the action that I use to create new list columns:

As you can see, I've included the Hidden property. According to the MS documentation here, this property does the following: "Gets or sets a value that specifies whether the field is hidden in list views and list forms".

When I create a column using this property (with it set to 'true'), it's as though the column hasn't been created. I can't see it anywhere, not even in List Settings.

If I create a column using this property with it set to 'false', the column is created as normal and is visible everywhere, including in the SharePoint list form, the list itself and in List Settings.

Is anyone able to help me to find a way to hide the field in the form, via Power Automate please?

Can't you simply set the addDefaultView value to false in your Body json? This way it will be created as field but not shown in the default view.

Hi @Expiscornovus  - That's actually the opposite of what I'm looking for.

I want it to not be displayed as a field (in the input form) but to show in the default list view.

In that case use a different method. The one you are now using is to create fields. Use the addviewfields method instead:

It looks as though I can use that to add a field to a view. Is that right?

If so, it's not what I'm looking to do. I'm looking to remove a field from a form, as illustrated below:

So, basically you want what is shown in the interface below only via the REST API.

Looks like there is a ReorderFields method for this on the related content type. Let me see if I can come up with an example via the REST API.

Hi @EdwardHodson,

This example below assumes you don't have any custom list content types. I am retrieving the default out of the box list item content type associated with your list (via a GET HTTP request call). After that I am using the ReorderFields method to only show certain fields on that specific content type. 

In this example I am only showing the Title (and therefore hiding the rest).

If you have more fields you want to display you need to add them into the array.

There seems to be almost nothing on the internet about working with content types with Power Automate - so in my opinion, this is forging a new path for everyone.
