How to Manipulate Excel Cell Data?

Hello -

Think this might have a simple answer. I'd like to automate a weekly notification email displaying those projects in my Excel workbook "Project List" for which the "Status" column is set to complete. The approach is to initialize an array; Add "Name" if "Status" is "complete, email a list of array values to my constituency. I've connected to my workbook via Excel "Get rows" but the retrieved object is "values": where do I go from here? I.e what are the next steps to applying the loop: if "Status" = "complete" append "Name," to the actual data. Help is much appreciated, thankCapture.PNG you.

Re: How to Manipulate Excel Cell Data?

Hi @almond_boi,

Have you scan my solution in the post:

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Connecting-To-Data/Interacting-with-Data-got-from-Excel/m-p/1265...

If you would like to initialize an array of Name and send it in the email, you could also create the flow as below:

The flow would run successfully as below:

Please let me know if your problem could be solved.

Best regards,

Alice

Re: How to Manipulate Excel Cell Data?

Thanks Alice! The problem is I cant access specific column objects for my rows. The table is many 20 columns by 100 rows. Should I make a slimmer table? Thanks very much for the help; this will make a big difference for us.Capture.PNG

Re: How to Manipulate Excel Cell Data?

Hi @almond_boi

Could you please share more details about how does you create the excel table?

Firstly:

Please take a try to refer to steps below to creating an Excel Table:

  1. Select a cell in the list of data that you prepared.
  2. On the Ribbon, click the Insert tab.
  3. In the Tables group, click the Table command.
  4. In the Create Table dialog box, the range for your data should automatically appear, and the My table has headers option is checked. ...
  5. Click OK to accept these settings.

Please create the flow on the new excel table to see if the issue still exists.

Secondly:

If you couldn't access specific column dynamic content for my rows when your mouse is in the first column of the Condition, please take a try to click on the gray area on the Condition to narrow the Condition, and then click the Condition again to open the Condition, then move your mouse is in the first column of the Condition to see if you could access specific column dynamic content for my rows.

Please let me know if your problem could be solved.

Best regards,

Alice

Re: How to Manipulate Excel Cell Data?

Hi @almond_boi,

You could take a try to create an excel table with two columns as below:

Please have a test on the flow to see if you could access the two columns of the excel table.

Best regards,

Alice

Re: How to Manipulate Excel Cell Data?

Hi Alice -

Thanks for your help.

Starting to use this thread as explcitly error support-- let me know if that's not appropriate.

Your suggestion worked. I created a new table with Power Query, could ID the fields in the FLOW, but when I run it I'm getting the following. Any ideas? Capture.PNG Thank you.
