How to add Recurrence trigger to an existing group

Hi, I just built a flow but forgot to specify the Recurrence trigger in the beginning, so by default it runs every minute. Now I want to add the Recurrence trigger but can't figure out how, seems the I can only add an action or an parallel action to the existing flow...

Any ideas?

Re: How to add Recurrence trigger to an existing group

Hi @WGlu

Once the trigger is set, it can't be changed unfortunately. That would howver be a great suggestion for you to make in the Flow ideas threads.

Best advice I can give is to open 2 browser windows, 1 with old Flow one with new Flow and start new Flow with "Recurrence" trigger.

Add each step one by one to the new Flow and copy and past as you go. Assuming you keep your actions named identically the should c&p right over without error.

Hi Alan, thanks for you reply, however I didn't find the post you alluded to, can you please provide the exact link to the post?

Re: How to add Recurrence trigger to an existing group

Hi there WGlu, you are most welcome.

I am not actually referring you to a link or a post apart from the “Flow Ideas” threads that I have linked. Just the advice given in my post above to start a new Flow and copy your actions to the new Flow one created.

Does that make sense?

Thanks, Alan.

Re: How to add Recurrence trigger to an existing group

Hi @WGlu,

Could you provide more details about Flow configuration?

I don't understand why you can't change the configuration of Recurrence.

You could configure the Interval in Recurrence directly in the existing Flow.

Or you could export the existing Flow and re-import it as a new Flow, then adjust the settings in Recurrence.

Please take a try.

Re: How to add Recurrence trigger to an existing group

The problem is not about configuring recurrance... I didn't add the recurrance in the beginning and now afte flow has been built, seems there is no way to add a trigger on top of the existing actions.

Instead of rebuilding the flow, I'm gonna add a condition which parses the current time to determine whether continues following actions (i.e. a custom "trigger").

Re: How to add Recurrence trigger to an existing group

Hi @WGlu

If I am understanding correctly, are you saying you have used a diferent trigger, not Recurrence?

For clarity, please tell us what trigger you have used in your Flow or post a picture as I am prettty confident, the information I have shared with you is the solution to your problem.

Thanks, Alan

No, I haven't adding any trigger in my flow, I was just concieving if I can circumvent this issue by adding a conditon, will let you know once I tested.

Re: How to add Recurrence trigger to an existing group

Seems there is no way to extract current hour/minute from the date time, my flow is stranded.

BTW, I do posted the idea: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Flow-Ideas/Add-a-trigger-to-an-existing-flow/idi-p/237850#M12746
