How to create a copy of a .aspx page with all of the webparts

I have a folder created in the Pages Library with a Template .aspx page.  I am trying to create a flow that will create a copy of the file then save to the Pages Library with the new name.  I have tried a copy of ways, but I I am unable to get the web parts to copy.

Copy File

  • This created the .aspx, but none of the web parts were include

Get File Contents > Create file

  • This created the .aspx with the new name, but none of the web parts were included.

Is this possible? Do I need to use an HTTP request to retrieve the web parts?

.aspx pages are SharePoint pages.  I am trying to make a copy of a SharePoint page with all of the web parts.  The pages are stored in the Pages Library.

Re: How to create a copy of a .aspx page with all of the webparts

Hi @ALBordelon,

It seems like should change the web part mode of ASPX file

There are Web Parts Modes:

The modular and customizable sites that you can build with the new Portal Framework enable you to put the web page that is in view into several modes for the end user. Modes are very powerful in that they enable user to edit Web Parts, delete the Web Parts or customize Web Parts.

  • a) Normal mode: End user cannot edit or move sections of page.

  • b) Edit Mode: End user can edit Web Parts on the page including Web Parts title, color or even setting custom properties.

  • c) Design Mode: End user can rearrange the order of the page Web Parts in a WebPartZone.

  • d) Catalog Mode: End user enjoys the choice to add new Web Parts or add deleted Web Parts in any WebPartZone on the page.

So if you want to copy the ASPX file, you should open the Edit Mode of ASPX.

I am afraid there is no way to edit the mode in MS Automate currently, so the goal could not achieve.
