How to get list of contacts, filtering on a field in the account?

I want to build a workflow in PowerAutomate giving me all contacts whose account has a specific value in the "new_field1" field.

I have used the "Expand Query" in the CDS "Get List" :
parentcustomerid_account($select=name,new_field1,new_fields2;$filter=new_field1 eq 'test' )

The workflow is running fine, but it's not taking the filter into account, and it's not giving me the three fields (name, new_field1, new_field2) in the results. No error message. What am I missing ? 🙂

Hi @tissanfr

So the problem here is, that I dont think you can use 3 Query options.

What I suggest doing is to create a Flow inside a solution so you have access to the Common data service (Current Environment) connector:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/commondataserviceforapps/

This way you can use Select, Filter, and expand. Inside their own fields.

Hello @tissanfr

Could you share a screenshot of you flow?

Here is what the action should look like:

How do I insert an image here? Using the camera icon and giving the link to a PNG image is not working 😞

I tried your syntax though, but it's refused, saying that the field is not available on the contact. My filtering is directly in the Expand Query field, like I saw online.

@tissanfr

Try copy and paste image into the reply.

Could you link the documentation you read?

i have used this page :
http://linnzawwin.blogspot.com/2019/12/power-automate-list-records-use-expand.html  (to see how to link to the account the right way)

as well as this page :
