How to retrieve only tweets from a particular twitter user

Hi All,

Everyday its very interesting to use Flow.

I need a small help on this.

I have build a flow using twitter connector to capture tweets from a particular user and send them to kaizala Connector.

But its not working fine it seems. It seems its not taking that user. It is sending all tweets with that search term without filtering user.

I want to send the new tweet created by that particular user to kaizala.

Please check the screen shot. Please help

Re: How to retrieve only tweets from a particular twitter user

Hi @ BharathCh,

You could add a Condition under the trigger to check if the tweet is from the particular user, and if the tweet is from the particular user, send them to kaizala Connector, if the tweet isn't from the particular user,do nothing.

Please refer to screenshot below to create the flow:

Please let me know if your problem could be solved.

Hi Alice Zhang,

Thanks for quick solution.

Re: How to retrieve only tweets from a particular twitter user

Hi @ BharathCh,

Microsoft flow supportonly one twitter trigger "When a new tweet is posted" currently, and the trigger would only triggered when an special text is posted in twitter.

If you would like to get all new tweets from a user and not only the search Keyword,

I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in Microsoft Flow currently.

If you would like this feature to be added in Microsoft Flow, please submit an idea to Flow Ideas Forum:

Thanks Alice Zhang.

Re: How to retrieve only tweets from a particular twitter user

There is an undocumented solution to this. Simply search for the following:

from:@username

I'm trying to get it added to the connector documentation... and I wonder how many more hidden features there are like this.

Re: How to retrieve only tweets from a particular twitter user

((( i know this is a year down the line, but others may read it )))

Agreed, @TimBourguignon , this is how I did it, and was also what Flow did, naturally, out of the box to get all tweets by a user.

Also, @BharathCh , the 'Original' calls from Twitter can give you issues with retweets and/or QRTs. It's probably better (purely IMO, you do you :-) ... ) to build with  with:

  1. Tweet text :::by::: Tweeted by
    and
  2. Tweet ID

Perhaps worth thinking about what should be the first thing in the flow, especially given what your main criteria for reporting is. If it's the user, that should be the first step, then add conditions after getting their Tweets.

Oh, and, @BharathCh , there is a listed solution for filtering out the replies, here. However, I just put in a condition that if the tweet begins with:

@

... then it forks accordingly. So, the logic is:

1 - TWEETS - All tweets from ec_projectfive.

CONDITION - BEGINS WITH '@'?

2 - YES? - Log in SharePoint list.

3 - NO? - Log in SharePoint list, email Eliot, place note in Teams, and send mobile notification.

-----------------------------

Caveat - I'm aware that there's an accepted solution, I'm not trying to upend that, just showing my thought process. Smiley Happy

Hope that even though this is a year late, it can help others that drop by ... or not ... either way ... Hi!

Best
