How to send two attachments from different sources by mail

I am presenting a problem when I want to mail two attachments of different origin, the first attachment I am sending originates through filling out a Microsoft Word template, the steps I use to send this file is to fill in the template, then create the file in a One Drive for business location, then I get the contents of the file using the path, then I convert the file to PDF and finally I use the Outlook connector to send mail and add in the attachments option contained the body of converting the file.

The above works correctly when I only want to mail the Microsoft Word template.

The second source of the attachment comes from the attachment when a new item is created in a Sharepoint list, to send this file I first get the attachment from the Sharepoint list, then I initialize a variable of type array, in the step of applying to each one I get the contents of the attachment and finally attached to the array variable.

In the send mail step I select the option to allow switching to the full input array to add the FileAttachmentHDS variable that I previously initialized of type array.

This is where I am presenting the problem of wanting to add the two attachments, when I want to add a new element in the attachment section I do not see the variable of type array that I declare previously.

Try switching to the full input array, which is the option where if the array type variable appears, add the array type variable but without removing the necessary parameters for it sent from the previously generated Word template as follows:

Finally I save the flow to start with the test, the flow is saved correctly without any error message, and when testing the flow the two files arrive, the first one that is the one that was loaded when creating the item in the Sharepoint list and the second file that is generated from the Word template.

When you try to open the first file the message comes out that We cannot open this file, An error has occurred.

I would like to know if this is the right way to send both files or there is another way in which I can send the two files taking into account that they are of different origin, I would very much appreciate who can help me or give guidance on how it can be done.

Hi @sebastianslz

I have tested this and worked for me. See the below steps:

Next get all the attachments and attachment contents from SharePoint.

image.png

Next file is under my one drive

Final step email

Here is my test output

Like I described earlier here I am using one single array variable to append all my file names and contents bytes.

Thanks

Hi @sebastianslz

Try attaching to same variable for both sources to the below variable and map the array variable under the email.

@abm  Thank you for your answer, I do not fully understand what to tell me to do, you can give me a more detailed example to test in my flow and validate that it works correctly

Hi @sebastianslz

What I was thinking is try to take the one drive file name and content under the Append Array variable.

Hope its more clear.

Thanks

Hi @abm

Your
answer worked wonders only that you make a modification, I do not know if it is correct, in the second step where you indicate that you get all the attachments and the content of the Sharepoint attachments you add the step of apply to each  within another apply to each 2, by doing as you indicate in your answer makes an attachment be sent for each item that exists in The Sharepoint list, this caused my attachment to be sent 30 times which is the number of items I have.

In order to correct the functionality just choose to use the apply to each 2 leaving thus the second step you mentioned:

Making this modification works perfectly, there is something else you should consider in the modification you make, is this correct?

Hi @sebastianslz

In my example I was looking all the list records and in each record it could have one or more attachments. I was giving you an example of some guidelines mainly based on that attachments array variable you questioned me earlier. Hope it make sense.

Thanks
