How to trigger when a user opens a document in a sp doc library?

Hello fellow flowers !

We would like to trigger when a user is opening a document, so that we can update a document property/column. And I don't find how to do that to flow.

Here is what we already got :

- BaseDoc : Document Library, with basic columns.

- UserId : custom column of BaseDoc, which is supposed to store the id of every user who already read the doc.

Here is the process we would like to add :

CONNECTOR : when a doc is opened

ACTION : store current user's id in UserId column

And.. that's all.

Do you know how we could do that please ? Or maybe i'm thinking upsidedown, so maybe you could give me a few hints to go back to the good thinking way 😉

Thanks a lot !

Re: How to trigger when a user opens a document in a sp doc library?

Hi @Gaelle,

Do you want to trigger your flow when a file is opened within your SharePoint library?

Thanks for your feedback, the "When a file is opened" trigger is not supported in SharePoint connector currently, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in Microsoft Flow.

If you would like this feature to be added in Microsoft Flow, please submit an idea to Flow Ideas Forum:
