Hi @Phineas

Just curious as to why you have the '1899' date in there?

addMinutes('1899-12-30',items('Apply_to_each')?['varInTime'],420)

Expression should be more like this:

addMinutes(items('Apply_to_each')?['varInTime'],420)

Addminutes usually takes two parameters, first the time you want ot add minutes to, and then the integer value you want to add. There is an optional 3rd parameter, which is the dateformat output.

I see that you wrote that you want hours above, if so, you have to use the expression "Addhours("  instead.

Tried your formula, got this back.
     addMinutes(items('Apply_to_each')?['varInTime'],420)

Inside the apply to each, in the first step, could you put this into a compose, so I can see the output? 🙂

items('Apply_to_each')?['varInTime']

Edit:

There are blanks in the data. Someone suggested the following, to account for the blanks. It cause the 'null' error I mentioned.

if(equals(items('Apply_to_each_2')?['OutTime'],null),null,addMinutes(items('Apply_to_each_2')?['OutTime'],420))

Here is one of the datetime variables. Is this what you are looking for?

Put a compose action here:

Heartholme_0-1680101896451.png

put in this expression into that compose:

items('Apply_to_each')?['varInTime']

Then I can see the output that goes into the formula, and determind what's wrong 🙂

This is from a run of ten. None of the lines had blanks in any of the datetime columns. It's when flow comes across the blanks that the error starts;

This is a one item run where the 'OutTime' in blank. No error, just no data.

The below is to confirm there are blanks in the source data at the point the flow is failing.

Allright! That's why the action returns that you have "null" data and fails.

So add a condition as the first step in the apply to each and put in the same expression as in the compose. Then, set it to not equal to and null as an expression in the right box.

In the yes part put your create item with the formula:

addMinutes(items('Apply_to_each')?['varInTime'],420)

Let me know how it goes ! 🙂

I've enquired, and the preference from the end user is to retain ALL of the historical data for analytics purposes; Meaning, the lines with blanks for 'OutTime' need to, also, be migrated with the rest of the data.

I got a recommendation from another forum helper to add the following to the 'OutTime' field of the 'Create item'; That it should resolved the issue and get me passed the 'null' error.

What I want is for flow to determine is 'OutTime' is blank, if yes place the 'InTime' time in the 'OutTime' column - this will create a 'WaitTime of '0', which is exceptable for the migration.

Please advise.

if(empty(items('Apply_to_each')?['Out']),null,addMinutes(items('Apply_to_each')?['Out'],420))

@Phineas

If I understood you correctly, this is the expression you want:

if(equals(items('Apply_to_each')?['Out'],null),'inTime',addMinutes(items('Apply_to_each')?['Out'],420))

To do this more visually you could also put "inTime" in the condition I mentioed earlier, but in the "No" part.

Anyway, in principle, both of these should work 🙂

How would the code look if I wanted the action to be - if 'InTime' eq 10/01/2022 07:29:34 and 'OutTime' blank, place 'InTime' content in 'OutTime' field, but do not add the '420' minutes.

Example:
'InTime' = 10/01/2022 07:29:34    'OutTime' = blank

Output:
'InTime' = 10/01/2022 07:29:34    'OutTime' = 10/01/2022 07:29:34

I am currently using the following in the 'OutTime'; However, it is artificially increasing the 'WaitTime' by 420.

The 'WaitTime' currently has - dateDifference('1899-12-30',items('Apply_to_each')?['WaitTime'])
