If Date field blank update field if not blank update different field

Need some help.  I am using MS Forms to capture info, of which is a question about attending an event.  I want to have up to 10 dates allowed, and update a SharePoint list.  

 

I have this working with 1 date field - fairly easy to map a single MS Forms field to a SP list.  But I am challenged by needing to allow multiple dates and only update the date field if it is empty.  

 

Addiotnal info:  I have a condition that check to see if form has been submitted (based on unique email address).  if no existing rows in SP with that email address, I do a create item.  if it exists, I perfrom an update and udpate the fields.  

 

My challenge is to not update the existing date field, but to add that date to next empty date field (date1, date2, etc.).

 

Any ideas?

I am afraid I did not understand your needs.

Could you provide more details about your requirements?

My current understanding is that attendee has 10 alternative dates for participation, and there are 10 date fields in the list that point to the 10 dates.

Updating the item according to the date submitted by the user in Forms is to update the corresponding date field, similar to making the value of this date field not empty.

Is this your need? Or you have other ideas.

Please provide more details and we would provide proper workaround for you.

Hi Barry,

 

Yes, there are 10 possible dates they can attend ( they may attend all 10, they may only attend 2-3).  I would like to populate the date fields to capture any and all dates they have attended. 

 

I was thinking the first date they enterened on the Form (using  MS Forms) would map to a field in a sharePoint list called date1.  Flow would check and if the field is blank, update it with the date.  If it is not blank, update the next avaialble blank date field (be it date2 or date3 ....)
