Is it possible to update the value in one field based on the update in another field?

Hi experts,

As said in the subject, is it possible to update the value in one field based on the update in another field? And I need such an update to be based on the existing value in this field.

For example, I have two column named "Latest Update" and "All Updates". All are multiple lines of text columns.

If I update "Latest Update" field of "test1"to "Update Test B", I need "All Updates" automatically displayed as "Update Test A \n Update Test B".

And so on.

Any input is highly appreciated. Thanks for your interest and time.

Accepted Solutions

1. Create flag field and set it false by default

2. In step 2 in your flow (update item), Update the field to true

3. Before step 2, add condition if flag is equal to true

if flag is equal to true -> terminate flow

else update Item

Hope this helps

Hi @New2PA ,

Yes you can achieve this

step 1, - retrieve record

step 2 - Save all update field record in compose

step 3 - Update Latest update field

Step 4 - concat compose and latest update field

step 5 - Update all update field.

let me know if you need details or test implementation in flow.

Thanks for your valuable response. Still need your help to the flow details. I am new to Power Automate and not familiar with specific actions in Power Automate. I designed the flow like below, but it seems to be caught in an endless loop.

How can I improve my flow as wished?

Thanks again for your input.
