Issue with "When File is Created" Sharepoint Trigger

I have an issue when moving files form SharePoint.

here is the scenario :

  • A file is created in a Sharepoint Folder
  • If the filename matches whith a list of filenames then
    • copy the file to an on premise file server
    • archive the original file on another folder on SharePoint
  • else
    • send an email to the people who place the file on sharePoint
    • Delete the file

All works fine with small files (up to 600 ko) but fails for bigger files.

In fact the flow is executed while the file is not fully uploaded on SharePoint.

The result is empty files in archive, and on on-premise file server but execution report in Flow as Success

Error messages are displayed to the people who places the files on Sharepoint .

Any idea to prevent the flow to handle a file that is not fully uploaded?

Thanks in advance

Re: Issue with "When File is Created" Sharepoint Trigger

Hi @EDE,

What is the size of bigger file?

There is a limitation for 100 MB maximum for a single message/file. Please check this doc on Limits and configuration in Microsoft Flow for more details:

Re: Issue with "When File is Created" Sharepoint Trigger

Hi, @v-yamao-msft

The biggest file tested is 6 MB.

I found a work around :

  1. create a flow triggered by file add
This flow create an element in a liste with the filename and a date-time (utcnow() + 10 minutes)
  2. Create a second flow Executed every 5 minutes
Search the list items created by flow 1 where datetime is less or equal to utcnow()
    transfer the file
    remove element from the list

This works fine for all the files I have to manage for now, but I think that if 10 minutes is not enough to transfer the file to Sharepoint the issue will occur again.

From my point of view, this confirm that the trigger is fired as soon as a file is created even if the file is not transfered to sharepoint.

Do you know if there is a trigger fired when a file is fully uploaded to Sharepoint?

Thanks for your help
