Issue with the assigned user email in flow - "List rows present in a table,Apply to each,Create a task"

Hi all,

I am building a flow that seeks to extract data from an excel table and then create Microsoft Planner tasks in defined buckets and fill in the appropriate details within (task description, due date, etc). I have been successful so far when fixing the assigned user as myself, but when I try to link the input column in my excel table for the emails (separated by semicolon) the code returns an error.

Is there any way around this?

Hi @BrandonWoo ,

That's strange.  I have just tried with 2 emails and spaces in between and it should still work.  Also, you will get a different type of error if the flow cannot resolve your emails

You mentioned it is working if you set the assigned owner to yourself?  Does it work if you assign it to another single user (instead of multiple).

Hi @BrandonWoo ,

There should be an error message on the right hand side.

Please verify that the input to Assigned User is in the format of:

user1@email.com;user2@email.com;user3@email.com

Hi Eric,

The error message i am seeing at the right of the flow run is

Error
Action 'Create_a_task' failed

In addition, my input emails are in a similar format as the one you shared but with spaces (also i used concatenate function in excel to create it) user1@email.com; user2@email.com; user3@email.com;

Hi @BrandonWoo :

Could you please log in to the planner's portal and manually assign tasks to these people to eliminate the possibility of problems with permissions and these users themselves?

Hi @eric-cheng,

Just tried with a random single email and it does not work as well, only works when assigned to my own email.

Hi @v-bofeng-msft,

Is this a one-time setup that has to be done before the flow can work? i.e having assigned emails be assigned to at least one task beforehand

I'd like the assigning of tasks to emails to be automated as far as possible as there are alot of them.
