Issues "Rejecting" Modification and Locating Item Name Within "E-mail Sent"

Hello can someone please kindly help me?!

 

Background: I am working on updating a large database on SharePoint and need to create an Approval Flow process that allows me to “Approve” or “Reject” any item modification that occurs.

 

Issue 1: When I try to “Reject” a modification, the modification I am rejecting doesn’t revert to its original entry (i.e. I am rejecting the modification because I approve of the original data and not the entry). How do I properly configure the flow to disallow a modification to remain (keep original entry)?

 

Issue 2: Whether approved or rejected, the “E-mail Sent” never contains the item name that my team member is modifying. Therefore from the large list of items per column, I am unable to assess which item is being modified without taking too much time looking at each item. Is there a way to display the item modified?

There is no "out of the box" SharePoint action that will set a list item back to a previous version and it does not happen automatically when an item is rejected.

Here is a link to a blog post that I wrote that explains how to retrieve a previous version of a list item.  Once you retrieve the previous version data, you can use an Update list item action to set the values back to what they were.

In order to determine what column changed, you will need to compare the old and new values in each column - my blog post demonstrates how to do that as well.  You can then include that information in an email.
