Location services must be enabled error

  • I created a flow that uses the Excel Online (Business) and Office 365 Outlook connector.  It retrieves info from an excel table (list rows present in a table), then sends and email based on data in each row.  Flow worked great in testing when all the emails go to me.  Then I added the Search for Users V2 connector, purpose is to take a field from the Excel table (last name, first name), and get the email address.  I used this in another flow that's active so I know it used to work properly. The issue is when I go to run this new flow, I get an error that Location services must be enabled to run this flow.  I assume this was caused by adding the Search for users connector.  My company manages the location setting, I can't turn it on its off by default.  Is this a new issue that location must be on to use search connector? Any tips on how to resolve?

I just returned from vacation and I got this same error. It doesn't make any sense why a flow would need your location. Also I got the error on a super basic flow. I would like to see what comes of this. My test flow is super basic.

Sadly, this error hasn't found a solution yet.  Signed...anxiously awaiting

@Atonkin89 I wish we had a answer to this. I ended up deleting that flow and just restarted, and some how this issue hasn't come back up.

I'm having this same error. Never got it before today.

"Location services must be enabled to run this flow."

I only had two steps in a new flow and couldn't test it. I deleted the run and recreated it and it ran fine. I then added a third step and the error came back. All I have is a Manual Trigger and three Get Items from SharePoint with Filter Queries for date/time with le/ge utcNow('yyyy-MM-dd'). The second time it worked fine with the utcNow() function but the error started back up when I added the third step.

Same problem here.  Flow was working great for weeks.  I then added

formatNumber(float(variables('varName')), '0') and the bogus 'location services' message began.  I removed the newly introduced Expression and the problem persists.  Super frustrating.

Replying for anyone in the future searching this problem.  Peek the Code on the trigger and see if it has added Location to the JSON object inputs.

Deleting and reinserting the trigger should fix it. MS seems to be having some bugs with Triggers in other areas as well.

Manual Button Trigger Code (As it should be):

I had the same issue.
Deleting and recreating the initial trigger button fixed it, Thanks

I removed the trigger (manually trigger a flow) and added it back, and then it worked. It seems that the trigger could not be read anymore.

Thanks it works

I have noticed that when we use the format data from exemples feature, the location attribute was automatically added to the trigger, so we just have to delete and recreate the trigger properly. Thanks @pompousROB for the trick

Thanks a lot pompousROB, you saved my day!!!! I was seeing same answers everywhere to enabled location permissions in browser but that didn't help. Finally read your answer, exported the working/non-working flows in a solution and found the issue exactly how you mentioned. Thanks once again 🙂
