I currently have a flow that is based on the trigger: When a new response is submitted (via Microsoft Forms). Within the Form, the respondent attaches an excel file, which is placed in a Sharepoint group. There is an approval step within the flow, and at the end of the approval, if it is approved, I would like to update the file properties' approval status column to reflect that the file has been approved. Therefore, I added this at the end of the flow, if approved:
However, when running the flow I get the following error:
The file "xxxx.xlsx" is locked for shared use by firstname.lastname@example.org.
How can I update the file properties/how do I make sure the file is not locked?
Solved! Go to Solution.
This is by design, if another user has the file locked then Power Automate will not be able to edit it, nor its properties, if the file is getting locked then you will need to wait for a but until the file gets unlocked and you will be able to edit it.
Thank you for the reply- however, there are no other users involved. I am the one creating the file, and testing it by myself and it is not working.
