Losing filename extension with user submitted file.

Hello, my flow allows users to input a file. That file is then emailed to another user as an attachment. However, this means the file loses it's filename attachment in the email. It happens with every single type of file. See pictures for reference.

Getting User data:

How email is sent:

Result in Email:

Re: Losing filename extension with user submitted file.

Hi @atltt,

Yes, if the file uploaded by Button is used, the file name and file type cannot be obtained, so the file in the attachment cannot be read.

MS Flow does not currently support getting file names and file types from Button. You could consider adding text input to let user enter the file name and select the file type.

Set both fields to be required fields.

Then configure the file name and file type in Attachment Name, taking care not to leave spaces in between.

Please take a try.

Re: Losing filename extension with user submitted file.

Hi @atltt ,

Some Update, there is currently no way to get the file name from Dynamic content.

But I saw some blogs mentioning that it seems that we can use Expression to get the file name.

I did a test on my side and can indeed get the file name of the file uploaded from the button.

Sorry for the information I provided earlier.
