I am looking to see if anyone may be able to help me with an error I am receiving with creating cases off of activities in D365.
Currently I am triggering on the creation of a new Email Activity, and what my goal is is to look at the original message in Outlook, or at the activity itself to see if a certain email address was CC'd on the email, and if so create the case.
With my implementation i am getting an Invalid Template Error in regards to looking at the CC property.
If anyone has any thoughts it would be great!
Hi @erikseitz ,
Do you want to get the cc email address from Dynamics 365 Activities entity then use it in a Condition?
I am afraid that it is not possible to achieve your scenario.
First, we cannot use dynamic content Email Id which from Dynamics 365 in Office 365 Outlook action Get original Email, it requires an Id from Office 365 Outlook actions/triggers.
Second, no CC and BCC will be returned from the Email messages, we could only get dynamic content torecipient and From.
My attempt is to allow users in my organization to have a case created whether they send an email To or CC the email address selected. I have ran into the issues you have mentioned and I believe you are correct I just wanted to make sure I wasnt doing something incorrectly.
I had tried to leverage the Office 365 connection and look at all emails recieved To or CC the address but then i was unable to connect the activity to the case because of the timing in which D365 creates the activity (i.e background process).
If there are options there however that i missed i would be interested in any method to achieving my goal.
Thanks for your response @v-yamao-msft
Hi @erikseitz ,
As CC/BCC is not able to be used in flow, so I am afraid that only To could be used in your scenario.
If you want to create a case when an activity is created, you could add a Condition to check if To equals to certain email address.
If yes, delay the flow for 1 minute or more (because of the timing in which D365 creates the activity).
Then create a case using corresponding value for each field.
