Can you please verify that you are, in fact using the Create Item action - I know wthe action says Create Item but that can be changed.  The action in your screen shot looks like it is actually the update item action.  The Id is not not shown in the Create Item action because it does not exist until an item is created.  The action shown in your screen shot looks very much like an Update Item action rather than a create item action.
